We Love Mississippi
Over the past year we have traveled up and down and across our state several times! 28,000 miles to be exact!! And as we leave the Yazoo bluff to drive down in the Delta, we always smile to each other, and BJ says, ‘This is the most beautiful state in the nation!” and I agree! We have it all in Mississippi. We have rolling hills, prairie farm lands, flat delta, beautiful forrest and timber, and the Gulf Coast! I’m reminded of Psalm 16:6 ‘Your boundaries have fallen for me in pleasant places!” and Deut. 11:11 ‘but the land …is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, 12a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning to the very end of the year.’
ROB New Season
This has been quite a busy year for us. Transition is always a bit unsettling, but is charged with expectancy of new things! We have been saying for about two years: ‘we are shifting!’ Now we are beginning to see some areas where we really have shifted into new and different assignments. In this newsletter I will share what some of those are, and how we believe the Lord is leading us in this new season!
It’s very exciting to visit our state capitol, to sit in the gallery, pray and watch our lawmakers at work. It’s even more exciting to be invited onto the floor while the Senate is in session! We had that privilege last April when BJ was invited to open the Senate with prayer. This year we have been much more involved with watching the bills on the docket, mobilizing prayer for specific issues-Charter schools, pro-life- and watching to see how the Lord would answer. Through donations of partners like you, we will have placed Dr. Freda Bush’s pro-life book, Hooked (premarital sex from a medical perspective) into the hands of every legislator in our state in January. We are coming along side governmental officials and staff building relationships. BJ has been invited to serve on Gov. Bryant’s task force to see teen pregnancy reduced in our state. Please pray with us for more doors to open in this area.
Mobilizing Prayer for Governmental Leaders
Do you know your state senator? Your state representative? Do you pray for them on a regular basis? Do they know you are praying for them? Blessing them? The Miss Governmental Prayer Alliance along with Mildred Bean of USRPN & HAPN is doing a wonderful job mobilizing prayer teams to go into the galleries to pray for the bills as the law makers are at work and holding regular prayer meeting in the Capitol. However, there is MORE!! Personal prayer for your specific member of the legislature. Also prayer for all of the governmental staff who work along side of our lawmakers.
Your mayor? Your city officials? Your judges? We are available to come to your city to share any tools that the Lord has given us to use in reaching out to and praying for our officials on any level. We want to see our state shift toward righteousness and justice! And it always starts with His people crying out in prayer! Let’s build Mississippi together-one heart, one relationship at a time!
Delta Force Strategic Prayer Team
Ruthie has been meeting every month with a team of women from across the Delta, focusing on mapping seven cities, seeking the Lord as to how to see each of them transformed into prosperous life giving cities! Full of business, righteous government and vibrant churches! It has been amazing to watch as these women have embraced their purpose and identity in the Lord and are moving out in their cities, visiting government officials and seeing the Lord move in the Miss. Delta! Understanding our Redemptive Gift has been very strategic in this team to know when, who and how to pray!
We have been invited as a team to specific prayer assignments involving governmental initiatives and also in launching new ministries. This prayer team does the research necessary to be informed praying with “Insight On-site!”
If you are interested in developing strategic teams in your area, please call Ruthie or email and we will talk!
Created with Purpose Workshops
Ruthie has see many doors open to teach this workshop. She will hold two more this year, one in Gulfport and one in the Delta. In the workshop in Owensboro, KY, a delightful lady came up after teaching on the exhorter gift with tears in both eyes. She explained how she had just been delivered from shame, because I had said that exhorters must embrace productive pain to come fully into their anointing and identity. She had been through much sorrow and pain, 13 surgeries on her face and had a glass eye. She had been told that as a Christian she should not be in this condition and she had felt shame for all that she had been through (long, involved story). She had a glass eye and had not shed tears from that eye in years because of the surgeries! The tears were physical evidence of healing, but the joy that I witnessed in this precious daughter of the King was almost more than I could bear!!! Our God is so awesome! She continued to say, ‘Now I understand my identity and purpose! I’m embracing this pain to see God’s Glory in it!’ Each time I have the opportunity to teach this workshop, I am the one who receives the blessing of seeing lights come on in young and old as they begin to understand their design and purpose in God’s Kingdom.
Thank you from Repairers of the Breach
Over the past two years we have transitioned into more ‘hands on’ ministry with BJ mentoring young men and women, meeting in small groups, traveling to Jackson every month. We believe that we are aligned with God’s purpose to see Father arise in Mississippi. Most of these meetings we do not receive an offering. We want to thank you for your continued prayer and support. Because of your giving, you make it possible for us to be available for counseling, on-site prayer and teaching without charge. If any one would like to become a partner in this ministry, please contact us or give on line at www.msrepairersofthebreach.com.
Blessings, Ruthie and Billy Joe
